Coordinator of Textile Cluster (Bangladesh), Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH
Since 2017, Werner Lange has been working as Coordinator for the GIZ Textile Cluster in Bangladesh. The cluster oversees four projects including the regional project “Fostering and Advancing Sustainable Business and Responsible Industrial Practices in the Clothing Industry in Asia” (FABRIC) which is working in Cambodia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Vietnam and with China and the bilateral programme “Promotion of Environmental and Social Standards in Bangladesh”, which are financed by the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). Werner brings 35 years of management experience in European fashion chains, including manufacturers and retailers. He worked as Chief Purchasing Officer (CPO) at Charles Vögele Holding AG in Switzerland, as a Managing Director at Adler Modemärkte GmbH in Germany and as Director at Karstadt Warenhaus AG in Germany. In 2014, Werner joined GIZ as head of the secretariat of the BMZ driven initiative “Partnership for Sustainable Textiles” (PST) in Germany before taking over the coordination of the textile cluster in Bangladesh.
