Cristina Kountiou , B.A., European Fashion Design, Kent Institute of Art and Design (University for the Creative Arts); M.A., Fashion Design and Enterprise, Westminster University; Has worked as Senior Designer and Brand Manager for sustainable start-up label Puer, developing the branding, design, marketing of the label as well as showcasing at Berlin Fashion week and Pure London. Managed design teams for a Hong Kong based design house, developing trend reports and forecasting, design concepts and product development for womenswear collections. Brands she has worked for include: DKNY jeans, Esprit, House of Fraser, French Connection, Nicole Farhi, as well as design and brand consulting for independent labels. Publications and presentations include “Thinking Out of the Box for Sustainable Fashion Design” at the 8ISS Symposium-Panel on Environment and Sustainability, at the 8th International Intimate Apparel Symposium for Sustainable Design and in Shanghai at Chinaplas for BASF conference on Innovation and Design. Advocating innovation, design and sustainability, she has facilitated and participated at roundtables with a focus on the future of sustainable fashion design education in Hong Kong.
