Having always been drawn to the creative fields, Christine majored in Visual Arts at Brown University in the US, then went on to work in trend forecasting in New York City. Diving deep into the consumer trends and insights that drive effective design, she has consulted with companies ranging from Patagonia to Colgate on product trends, been a featured speaker at national tradeshows, and written lifestyle articles for The New York Times.
In 2009, Christine returned to Hong Kong to take the reins of her family’s apparel production business, taking on the challenge of how to turn design concepts into reality. In this position, she set up a Fabric Development team, spearheaded social compliance certification, and also developed a growing awareness of the social and environmental responsibility issues surrounding the world of fashion.
In 2018. Christine decided to combine her personal advocacy with her wide-ranging experiences, and get back to her creative roots through a new enterprise – Tove & Libra. Co-founding the Hong Kong fashion brand with Ivan Tang (also a third-generation apparel manufacturer), the duo felt the brand could be a voice for advocating sustainable fashion concepts in the local market. As an early leader among the growing wave of local, sustainable brands, Tove & Libra has been featured in numerous Hong Kong and Singapore publications and was recently awarded “Hong Kong’s Most Outstanding Eco Fashion Brand of the Year” by Corphub; Christine has also participated as a panelist during FashRev and Rethink conferences.
As Creative Director of Tove & Libra, Christine’s unique eye combines eco-friendly fabrics with flattering and multi-functional fits, creating thoughtful modern designs that are better for both the closet and the planet
