Dr. Chris K. Y. Lo is the associate professor, discipline leader of fashion business, former programme director of BA in Fashion and Textiles, and Chairman of MA in Sustainable Fashion and Innovation Programme development committee at the Institute of Textiles and Clothing of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He teaches sustainability-related subjects at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
He published in mainstream business journals such as Organization Sciences, M&SOM, Journal of Operations Management, Decision Sciences, Journal of Business Ethics, focusing on the environment, human health, and sustainability. Many of his publications confirm a direct linkage between environmental and social performance and firm short-term and long-term financial performance.
His recent study about why firms ignored workers’ safety issues was covered by international newspapers, such as the Guardian, and won the best paper award of Journal of Operations Management in 2020. He is also the winner of the Responsible Research in Management Award 2017, PolyU faculty award for outstanding performance and achievement in teaching (Individual Award) 2017, and faculty award for research and scholarly activity (team award) “ Research projects combating COVID-19” in 2020.
He is the associate editor of Decision Sciences (Product and process innovation department), Service Science (Environmental and Social Responsibility Department), guest editor, and editorial review board of Journal of Operations Management.

Vanessa is the Group Managing Director of Nan Fung Development Ltd., managing the Group’s real estate development portfolio.
She is also the Founder of The Mills – a revitalization project of transforming the Nan Fung Textile Mills into a global innovation techstyle destination comprising of art, start-up incubator and experiential retail. The Mills project piloted many of the Group’s current social innovation and environmental sustainability works. Along with her experience in working for AECOM as a Landscape Designer as well as a part-time lecturer at HKU on City Branding, she hopes to inspire the younger generation and push Hong Kong’s leadership potential beyond the status quo.
She is a convener of NarrativeHK, an initiative promoting positive attitude among her generation in envisioning the future of HK. She co-founded Quo Kefir Believers, a natural probiotic health food company, and the co- owner of HK’s first CrossFit gym, CrossFit Asphodel.
Vanessa obtained her Master in Landscape Architecture at Harvard University and Bachelors in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley.
